Customized Laser Vision Treatment

LADARVision® CUSTOMCORNEA® is the process of reshaping your cornea to reduce or eliminate both lower and higher order aberrations that can affect the quality of your vision and how well you see after your laser vision correction procedure.
On the day of your procedure, the LADARWave™ CUSTOMCORNEA® 3-D map, containing the aberrations of your eye is perfectly registered and aligned with the surface of your cornea.		Map becomes guide for treatment.
Then, LADARVision®4000 Excimer laser with its radar eye tracker, tracks your eye movement at 4000 times per second.		LADARTracker™ tracks eye movement.
Then using LADARVision®'s small spot laser beam your cornea is reshaped while addressing both higher and lower order aberrations.		Small spot beam precisely reshapes cornea.

The LADARVision® System is the only laser system that can maintain this precise registration and alignment of the eye while reshaping your cornea in the exact pattern defined by your personalized LADARWave™CUSTOMCORNEA®

The FDA has approved an expansion of the treatment range for our customized wavefront-guided LASIK procedure, CustomCornea.  Performed with the LADARVision System, Custom-Cornea is now approved for treatment of nearsightedness (myopia) up to -8.0 diopters (up from -7.0) and astigmatism up to -4.0 diopters (up from -0.5).

This approval allows us to offer the broadest wavefront-guided treatment range of any refractive laser system in the United States.  We can now use the LADARVision System to treat more than 90 percent of all myopic LASIK patients with the customized procedure.

With Custom-Cornea, we are able to measure and treat visual abnormalities that have never been detected before, including those linked to glare, halos, and night vision problems.  This advanced treatment can provide patients with better quality of vision after surgery than they had with contacts and glasses.

Further clinical trials are ongoing to demonstrate the effectiveness of the LADARVision System for wavefront-guided treatment of farsightedness (hyperopia) with and without astigmatism, and for the treatment of eyes with other symptoms, such as pre-existing night vision problems and post-LASIK complications.
